The Truth SEIU Is Withholding
The Service Employees International Union (SEIU), representing San Francisco government workers, is concealing the reality behind its Proposition D tax proposal. While presenting itself as a populist group focused on reallocating wealth from billion-dollar firms, the SEIU fails to disclose that this redistribution would primarily benefit the union itself.
The SEIU is the primary financial backer of this tax because the resulting revenue would be directed to the San Francisco government, where nearly half of all expenditures are used for the compensation and benefits of employees of whom nearly half are SEIU members. A genuine interest in redistributing wealth would have led the SEIU to suggest a tax with a much broader distribution of proceeds.
When its populist facade is removed, the SEIU is revealed to be nothing more than a commercial entity that generates its income from government outlays.
And so goes the "integrity" of all Democrat socialists. This has always been their "working families" smokescreen. Gimme more money so we can spend it on ourselves.
BTW, all California county election office employees are represented by SEIU. So we would also be paying them even more money .......to count our votes.
I do believe SEIU also invented a self-licking ice cream cone.
LOL, as would the 5% Billionaires Tax for this coming election. It is the most phony gimmick ever on a CA ballot. Page 26 of the Bill explains how if the Billionaires do not supply the revenue needed the legislature can take control of the law and redirect it toward the general population. This means our Checking/Savings accounts, Stock Investments, Home Equity, and Property investments can have a tax levied against them. Just let that sink in for a moment. Everything you have worked your life for taxed......and not just one time. The Democrats will make it a Permanent Tax!
